Head Crashing Informatics is the online representation of Markus KARG, dedicated to research and development on the field of software technology.
If one is developing software for more than 25 years, and in particular when having spent more than a decade in R&D at an ISV, he obviously has accumulated a traesure of ideas, non-classified research results, best practices, URLs, fellows... what commonly is known as "Personal Experience and Network". Least of this information is directly linked with one particular employment or job, but actually the majority is unrelated or "free", built not by intention of a particular employer, but created or collected by chance or by private interest. Many of this information is not just of personal usefulness, but has a potential value to a wider public. This is what this web site is about. It is a place for publishing, and possibly merchandising, personal (i. e. non-employer-related) experience and expertise.
While there are some commercial offers found on this web site (besides mostly free information), and while these are often better than many competitive solutions of large companies, this is neither a software shop nor a big software company's site. It still is a personal site of a private person, and is in no relationship to any employer or other company. All commercial offers found on this site are result of my private research, and I stand with my name for the usefulness and quality of all of these products. Each of these products has been developed with great care and thoroughly tested, and are in daily use at different companies. All of them will get maintained actively and frequently. So these are not "hobby" products, but professional IT solutions. The products might occur inexpensive, but are everything but sleazy. Try it out.
As most people know, a head crash is the worst accident a hard disk could have (technically spoken, one of the drive's heads is touching the spinning disk's surface, leading to abrasion of the magnetic coating storing the actual information, thus perpetually damaging both, the device and the information). While being a publicly well‑known term, a head crash could also be the state when you crash your head on the table or against a wall to indicate your frustration when finally discovering an absolutely simple solution after very long time of nerve-wracking research. Virtally every programmer enters this emotional state several times per day. This web site is about the latter: Simple solutions that you will need long time to find, and thus, are somewhat exceptional, since most people would have chosen a much more complex or less sophisticated solution. Since this is covering not only software but also services, this explains the subtitle of this web site: Exception IT Products and Services.
Who is the guy on the foto?
Born in 1973, Markus KARG graduated from German information technology college in business informatics with specialisation on systems and networks in 1997. He is talking Java since the same year and contributes to several open source projects. Following his focus of interest, distributed systems, he is employed as the head of design and implementation of a medium-sized ISV. From time to time he is publishing about software technology, like in this blog or German magazines. In his rare sparetime, he enjoys to have breakfast out in a cafe with the love of his life, which he married in 2001.
Dedicated to research and development in software technology, he founded this web site in the year 2010, hoping that other developers might find it interesting to browse his collection of information, projects, products and services.
